Missouri City Mayor Robin Elackatt and Dr. Joseph Sunny Kunnassery Meet Geevarghese Mor Aphrem to Discuss Kunnassery Family Heritage and Autism Research

Missouri City Mayor Robin Elackatt and Dr. Joseph Sunny Kunnassery, Director of Prayatna and a senior occupational therapist, met Geevarghese Mor Aphrem, patron of Global Kunnassery Forum at the Kallissery Knanaya Bishop’s House. The discussions centered on two key areas: preserving Kunnassery family history and the implementation of a new autism assessment tool.
The meeting explored ways to raise awareness among young generation and foster connections within the Kunnassery diaspora. In addition to family history, Dr. Joseph Sunny, Kunnassery, as part of his research, has developed a tool for early autism symptoms detection. This assessment tool is designed to be user-friendly, even for Anganwadi workers, and the meeting included discussions about its future development and implementation.
